(The Center Square) – In her last scheduled news conference prior to Thanksgiving, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer used the COVID-19 pandemic to malign Republican legislators for taking scheduled time off to participate in the state’s annual deer hunting season and President Donald Trump for refusing to concede a loss in the 2020 election. A rally at the capitol on April 30 devolved into several armed men storming the building. “If she thinks the last protest was bad she hasn’t seen anything yet,” DonnaCookie Grady wrote. From The Glitch Mob Plus 6 years ago 'Skytoucher' taken from The Glitch Mob's new album 'Love Death Immortality.' February 11th, 2014 Glass Air Records theglitchmob.com. Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver. Glitch Mob didn't get on stage until after 11pm. I understand they want to sell a lot of drinks, but I waited more than 3 hours for the group I bought tickets for to start, and didn't even stay to the end of their act because it was so late.
The Glitch Mob proved early on this year that they were a musical force to be reckoned with. 2014 had nearly begun when the trio released their long-awaited sophomore album Love Death Immortality onto the world. LDI marked a career-breaking charting for TGM debuting at #13 on Billboard’s Top 200 Chart, as they set to debut the album live for the first time on their North America sold out spring tour which includes top billing slots at festivals including Ultra,Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Governor’s Ball and Coachella, where they will showcase their full live production otherwise reffered to as “The Blade”.
Now, just when their first video “Can’t Kill Us” surpasses 1 million views, the LA supergroup Justin Boreta, Ed Ma (EdIT) and Josh Mayer (Ooah) release the music video for the second single off of LDI, ‘Becoming Harmonious’ featuring vocals by Bay Area avant darkwave chanteuse Metal Mother.
The Glitch Mob, known worldwide for their use of stunning and elaborate visuals to coincide with the music they create, chose to work with award-winning Director Susi Sie who created the video using the science and art of cymatics. Strictly applying analog techniques and refusing any computer animations or effects, Susi Sie’s haptic and detailed work is above all a highly personal study of the genuineness, perception and authenticity of things.
In this manner, she harnesses the power of this beautiful scientific phenomenon to create scenes of stunning visual imagery, which flow seamlessly alongside The Glitch Mob’s pulsating rhythms and is the perfect compliment to Metal Mother’s eerie vocal display, and what EdIT refers to as “Both evil and angelic at the same time; it plays with your head.”
When you watch the video you will find it hard to believe all the scenes were filmed using nothing more than lycopodium powder, a Canon 5D, a 100mm macro lens, two chairs, and a subwoofer. As each changing beat and vocal of ‘Becoming Harmonious’ resonates through the lycopodium, the powder takes on a variety of new and unique geometrics shapes. The ultimate result is a breath-taking kaleidoscope effect which transitions and moves to the music with harmonious precision. This video is a true piece of visual art; bringing to life the rawness and beauty that is ‘Becoming Harmonious’.
As Love Death Immortality enters it’s third month in circulation, the album continues to receive recognition and presigious-reviews from critics around the globe. ‘Becoming Harmonious’ has certainly proved to be an all-star second single from LDI, having gained some standalone attention of it’s own. The track is featured in the Official Trailer for Tom Cruise’s new action movie, Edge of Tomorrow– which has already received over 2 million views on Youtube. This follows the official trailer that The Glitch Mob scored for Robert Rodriguez’s “Sin City”.
Last month, The Glitch Mob took LDI on the road for the first time as they set out on a nationwide spring tour. The trio has developed quite the reputation through the years for stellar live performances and have continued to push their on-stage production to new heights. Their stage and visual tech wizardry is designed by the visionary Martin Phillips at Bionic League (whose work includes live performance experience design for Daft Punk, Kanye West, Deadmau5, Kaskade. They also enlisted the music tech masterminds, roboticists, and hackers at Name the Machine to create an innovative and completely unique performance technology platform.
Among the myriad innovations unveiled on the tour is custom-built technology that lets the band trigger samples in real-time, and play them like live riffs, infusing their electronic music performance with improvisation, and the energy and drama of a live rock show.

In the midst of their massive world tour, The Glitch Mob had time to do an overhaul one of their remixes they released back in 2008. The song, originally released by Matty G, was originally remixed by The Glitch Mob six years ago, and was released on their Crush Mode mixtape.
The re-work gives the song a sonic overhaul. Everything sounds much more industrial, with a grinding bassline undertone and was re-fixed to fit into their live show . Best part of it, is that they are giving it away for free straight from their website.
